A 20+ Year Journey in Learning & Development
I'm Brissa Ramos, currently based in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona, though my story began amid the vibrant landscapes of Spain. At 11, I moved to the United States—a transition that brought a major cultural shift when I landed in Anchorage, Alaska. After high school, Arizona became home, where I went on to graduate from Arizona State University (go Sun Devils!), and earn a graduate degree from the University of Arizona (Bear Down, Wildcats).
For over twenty years, my career has centered on learning, design, development, and impact. I started as a corporate trainer and progressed into roles in instructional design, leadership, and consulting, gaining experience across various industries such as education, banking, and software development.
I've spent the past decade in tech, where my journey has taken me from customer technical training to development on the customer side and into partner enablement. Throughout each chapter, my focus has remained the same: creating meaningful, scalable learning experiences that drive real-world outcomes.
"I've always had a deep passion for learning and for helping others succeed. I thrive in environments where I can teach, guide, and support people as they grow. My path into training began when I stepped into a mentoring role and realized, this is where I'm at my best. That experience showed me how powerful learning can be—not just in transferring knowledge, but in empowering people to feel confident, capable, and successful in their roles. From that moment on, I knew training and learning would be at the center of my career."
As a trainer, I often received content that looked good on paper but didn't actually work in practice. That disconnect sparked a realization: there had to be a better way. I remember thinking, "I could do this better."
That moment led me to discover instructional design. I immersed myself in learning the craft—taking courses, going back to school, and studying how people truly learn. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion.
I was drawn to the creative side of instructional design, but even more to its impact: the ability to help people grow, simplify complex work, and turn training that feels obligatory into something engaging, practical, and genuinely useful. For me, instructional design became a way to change how people experience learning—and, in small but meaningful ways, how it can change their work and their lives.
Started as a corporate trainer and training mentor, discovering my passion for helping people succeed at their jobs. This is where I learned that great training could transform someone's work experience.
Worked at Laureate Higher Education Group, evolving from training to instructional design and leadership. Developed training for education sector, managed LMS content, and built new hire sales programs. This is where I fell in love with the craft of designing learning experiences.
Independent consultant working with Wells Fargo, AARP, and Southern Wine & Spirits. Designed eLearning for AARP's 50+ community, led Hispanic/Latino engagement initiatives, and developed webinar series. Built breadth across industries and audiences.
For nine years, I've focused on building learning programs that scale—from customer training to partner enablement to strategic L&D leadership. I've led globally recognized programs like Shark Camp for Partners, Accreditations, GTM Journeys (now Ignite), launched Train-the-Trainer worldwide, and used AI-powered learning to drive real, measurable business impact.
Outside of my professional life, I'm a wife and mother to two amazing daughters. We cherish embarking on adventures—whether camping in national parks, taking road trips across the US, or flying to new international destinations.
At home, I love to express my creativity through cooking, painting, singing, and new craft projects. That same creative energy I bring to my family life fuels my approach to learning design—always looking for new ways to make experiences memorable and impactful.
